The 3rd International Conference on C Sequestration and Climate Change Mitigation in Agriculture held in Beijing, China

The 3rd International Conference on C Sequestration and Climate Change Mitigation in Agriculture was held in Beijing, China on 21-24th July 2012. More than 160 experts and students attended the conference, including scientists from UK, USA, Australia, Japan, Korea, Turkey, and Pakistan.

More than 30 experts gave their presentations in the meeting. The topics included in soil organic carbon dynamics and long-term experiments, soil inorganic carbon dynamics and role in the terrestrial carbon cycle, carbon and nitrogen interactions in soil, terrestrial carbon cycle modeling, and isotope technique in carbon and nitrogen cycles. Dr Lianghai Wu from North Wyke Research, UK, introduced his study on assess adaptation and mitigation practices under different climate change scenarios using SPACSYS model. This conference provides a platform for scientists and students from different countries to exchange their recent study and share their views on C sequestration and climate change mitigation in agriculture.

As one of three co-chairs, professor Zhou Jianbin from Northwest A&F University, China took part in organizing the conference, and also introduced his study on nitrogen management on arable land.
